Your Teacher

For 31 years, Robert Rue has taught a diverse array of high school classes, focusing on everything from literature to creative writing, history, civics, psychology, the law and film. He was the Uhry-Thompson Teacher of the Year at The Calhoun School in New York City in 2018, and he is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of EdOpsJournal, an online magazine that focuses on the teaching of critical thinking at the high school level. He has won numerous writing awards, including the top screenwriting prize at The Austin Film Festival in 2015, and his script ROAR is currently in active development. A former college athlete, Rue has coached high school varsity basketball teams for most of his years in education. 

Rue is a member of Heterodox Academy.
